Hockey

This week we have been out with the hockey sticks learning a few of the basic skills. We had two sessions where we practiced  pushing and dribbling the ball.
Learning to hold the stick the correct way was easy.
We just had to remember over under  rule for our hands.
We pushed the ball to each other.  We made a triangle with our
 feet and the stick.
After some practice on the cricket pitch we went out onto the
field and passed the ball to each other by pushing it.

Explore Galore

On Friday morning everyone was busy painting, making, creating and sewing. Our goal was to be able to finish an activity and clean up afterwards.  Everyone helped to clean up, even the paints.
Hand and finger puppets provided plenty of inspiration
 for creative play.
The children mixed their own colours for their paintings.
The children created pictures using cut outs
 and coloured paper.
Sewing proved to be extremely popular.
All sorts of insects and spiders were made out of plasticine.

Cross Country Practice

Each day everyone is out running the cross country course. The cross country is on the
Tuesday 22nd of May at 11 o'clock.
The boys set off at a cracking pace.
The girls set off at a more measured pace, saving themselves
for the sprint at the end.
All the six year olds run around the course twice.

Visit to the Groynes

We had a wonderful visit to the Groynes. The children all thoroughly enjoyed hunting around in the undergrowth looking for insects. Making friends with a tree was a great game the class played as it required a great deal of teamwork.
Lunch before we start our activities.
We used magnifying glasses to see the tiny insects more clearly.
Making friends with a tree.
Something of interest!
